Douglas Oliver, NCARB, LEED AP

Associate Principal, Studio Director

Douglas Oliver is an Associate Principal, Studio Director at TCA with over 20 years of design experience creating and managing Concept and Schematic Design for high density multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial projects. As a Studio Director at TCA’s Oakland office, Douglas leads project teams and is responsible for day-to-day project delivery, client communication and internal project process. Douglas oversees staffing and scheduling to ensure the project is properly staffed for a successful delivery that is on budget and on time.

Prior to TCA, Douglas held the role of Principal at Arc Tec Inc. located in San Jose, where he developed entitlements and schematic design of mixed-use buildings with over 405,000 SF of commercial space. Douglas also provided site and concept planning for multiple office, mixed-use, and multifamily projects totaling over 4,000,000 SF of Class A office, 1,850 residential units and associated surface and structured parking.

Prior to Arc Tec Inc, Douglas was a Studio Director, Principal, and Partner at Studio T-Square located in Oakland, California. In his role, Douglas led the design and entitlements of many projects, with over 4,000 residential units in the bay area. He managed project design, large teams, and master planning. Douglas graduated from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL with a Bachelor of Arts in Liber al Arts and Science,Anthropology. He continued his education with graduate work through studies in Italy and Mexico, earning a Master of Architecture degree. He is a licensed architect in the state of California.
